This is my most recent favorite: http://www.myscrapbookart.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=378165&ppuser=84. I feel like I succeeded in capturing the memory, both with the fun photos, the design (a la Cindy) and the kit. This is another one where it all came together and perfectly captures what I was feeling at the time: http://www.myscrapbookart.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=371378&ppuser=84; it’s so rare I get to use flowers, and they are sooo much easier to embellish with than boy pages!
Here is a fail: http://www.myscrapbookart.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=103582&ppuser=84. It was one of the last layouts I made before I quit being a Babe; obviously my burn out was evident, lol. I was just trying way too hard to use everything I liked about this kit on one page!
I think I like my pages so much better in the last year or so because I’ve started only using products that I love, instead of buying everything that catches my eye and feeling obligated to use it. I’ve also cut my CT list back drastically, so I’m not having to use certain products just because it’s a CT product as much as I used to.
I loved seeing your hits & misses! And when is that March template going to be available?? It’s been taunting me from your website all year!

Oh thanks for sharing your hits & misses Kellie! I totally know what you mean about trying to use everything from a kit on a page. I run into that a lot too, just too much good stuff! And I stopped buying kits over a year ago because I never found time to scrap with them. Kind of sad but better than seeing them sitting there all sad and unused.

As far as the March template, I’m assuming you’re talking about the image in the sidebar? That’s actually a freebie template I offered at SSD a while back but you can still download it here. I should really make a new template to take it’s spot…

      • Kellie says:

Lynnete, I refuse to believe you ever offered that for free and I missed it! ; ) Yes, you definitely should make a new one to fill its spot, too.

    Hello Lynnette!

That was such a fun post to read. And it did inspire me to go and check out the Digi Dares again. I knew about them, but never played. This week I missed the deadline and didn’t follow all recipe requirements, but I love that I documented a moment in my life and how I think right now. I have decided to play along more often, just for myself. So thanks for that!

As for the March template, that was definitely a freebie. And one of my most favourite templates I used. If you replace it, I totally vote for the cheese layout to be turned into one! 🙂

    • Lynnette says:

Oh yay! So glad it inspired you check out the Digi Dares again! I should really do that too. It’s been awhile since I played! And yes, the cheese layout! That is a favorite of mine as well and would make a pretty cute template. Thanks for the suggestion!

Wow, I love this post! I loved this first LO, not your usual style but fabulous nonetheless! I’m too leaning towards a paper-like style, and you’re definitely an inspiration

  4. I love your post!!! I always love reading into an inspirational scrapbooker like yourself. Anyway I create a blog that Im writing to my daughter… and Its actually my 3 year scrapbook anniversary so I’ve decided to take some inspiration and write out some post about my last 3 years too. Woohoo, congrats on your 3 year Scrap-i-versary! Off to check out your blog…

Ok so I attempted to leave some comments on your blog but apparently I do not have an OpenID option that it likes. And no way am I linking to my older than dirt blogger blog which no one should be checking out. LOL! So I’m going to post here in hopes you’ll see it!

I totally loved reading about your hits & misses! The man page with the girly kit totally made me LOL. I think we ALL have those pages that we look at later and are like, WHAT in the world was going through my mind that day?! I know I do! LOL

Very cool about the puppet warp too. I had heard a little bit about it but as I am still scrapping old-school style with CS3, haha, I’ve never tried it. Looks like a super cool tool for digiscrapping though! Perhaps an upgrade is in order…one of these days…

Oh I definitely have hits and misses. Thankfully more hits these days than misses. I enjoyed seeing how your style evolved too, and would love to see more graphic design type layouts from you as well. I loved the first layout. Digi dares scare me. I’m a pretty linear scrapper too, when left to my own devices. A lot of my earlier pages were along the lines of your Awesome-O layout. I still love that style. Otherwise I use Cindy’s templates because I like to know what the end result is going to look like, and she has already done the hard work (I’m on her CT).

    • Lynnette says:

More hits than misses is definitely a good place to be! I noticed that too as I looked back through my old layouts.

I’m big on knowing the end result too – if I don’t have a clear picture in my head of what I think the layout will look like when I’m finished, I have a hard time getting started. I am definitely not a “move things around and hope for the best” kind of scrapbooker! LOL

  6. oh well that stinks about not being able to post on my comments… maybe I can figure that out guess its a blogger thing. Yeah always gotta love the look backs and the /facepalm because of it.

I was an old school for awhile.. gave in to the cs5.. not looking back either.
